Welcome to the board, Dave. As far as places to shoot, there are all kinds of clubs across the county. If you could let us know where you live in the county I'm sure that there will be at least one person who can point you in the direction of a club you can join. FCO is ok, I only join during the winter.

I'm in Wernersville. How much is FCO's membership? $12/hr will add up quickly. Any good outdoor ranges near me that I don't have to jump through hoops to join?

Here is a list or ranges around the county with the appropriate hyperlinks maybe you can find something close by. FCO is $100.00 for the winter quarter, not sure of what the annual is.

Welcome to the board! Not that its right around the corner but......
Me & a friend just joined South Birdsboro Rod & Gun. Covered outside ranges & $22 yr membership. Pistol range is 15, 25 & 50 Rifle range is 100, 200 & 300 Shotgun area next to rifle range to throw clays Dont have to be a NRA member to join Plus you can set up spinner targets & most other type of "reusable / resettable" targets We use to go to FCO & the french creek free range before we were able to join the above mentioned club.

Well "able to join" means that we had to go to a monthly meeting & sit thru a "orientation" - basically what will get you kicked out & what you can & cant do.
You dont need to be referred by a member or have a sponsor or anything like that. You just show up to a meeting, pay your $22 & your in. I think if you showed up on a weekend when the president is there & explained to him that you work 2nd shift & cant make regular meeting times, he'd let you join right away. The french creek free range is the state game land shooting range that borders french creek state park. Its just off of Rt 345 which goes thru the park. You can shoot there anyday from 8am to dusk I believe, except sundays which is noon to dusk. Theres a seperate area for rifle/pistol and clays. Its nice cuz its free, but there is a 3 round in the gun rule. Caught with any more then that in your weapon & the fine is $100 per round. I've only been there a few times as there are lots of dangerous things going on there as there is not a state ranger there.
