Thanks for typing that up, it is very helpful. I barely had the funds to buy a gun so I don't have $$$ for training at this point. I was afraid teaching myself was going to lead to me learning bad habits. But with your "guide" I am much more confidant I will learn good habits and be a much better shooter. I know it's no substitute for class training, but it is way better than teaching myself when I don't really know what I'm doing.

Save some cash and get the training, starting off learning the basics by yourself is not really a good way to start, well I shouldn't say it's not a good way to start, but it helps alot more wihen you've got someone to help out with technique and advice. I'd definately suggest atleast trying to find some members here with some training background or 10+ years experiance and try and get some pointers and informal instruction untill you can get into a class.

I do plan to get training at some point, but saving $$$ is hard to do when I'm sick (3 1/2 weeks this year). I'd love if I could find someone here who would be willing to help me learn, but I hate to ask for something everyone else just goes and pays for. Nobody want to be known as a "charity case".

Sheesh I almost missed this! Well I wont make a downstream joke just yet... Where do you shoot. I recently went to Castlewood to meet a member there and here... Ended up in that park near there between a rock and a hard fall... I have to take my wife there this summer, she will definately make diamonds by squeezing her but cheeks tight on that road!
