Default reloading the .30-30

Sorry about all the relaoding questions....

I have a bolt action .30-30 so i decided to load some of .30-30 rounds using pointed tip bullets. I used the cannelure of the bullet for seating the bullet. The problem is that the completed rounds are too long to fit in the maginizne of the gun.

My question is this. Is it safe to shoot these bullets through the gun? I was just going to load these rounds one at a time.

Can't really answer with the information given. When you chamber one, does the bolt close easily? When you extract the cartridge, does the bullet have rifling marks on it? What is your load (powder, bullet, primer)?

These are loaded with 150 grain rem soft pointed bullet. I am using 34 grains of BL-C(2) powder and CCI regular primers.

The bullet will fit in to the chanber and close as easly as a regular flat point round. I do not see any rifling on the bullet.

As long as your bullet isn't seated so long as to be driven tight into the lands (the beginning of the rifling) you should be fine. If the bullet meets the extra resistance of being tight against the lands it can cause higher chamber pressure, and that could lead to catastrophic failure, especially if you're loading to the "upper end of the chart".
A quick way to see if the seating length is too long for your chamber is as follows:
put a bullet into a sized, unprimed, empty case, leaving it seated longer than you would like it to be. Measure the OAL. Load that unprimed case, with the bullet into your gun. Close the bolt on the cartridge. Extract the cartridge. Measure your OAL again. Repeat a few times making sure to have the bullet seated long each time to be sure you're getting a repeatable measurement. It should be shorter than it was when you put it in. That length is the length to your lands. You should keep your OAL just a bit shorter than that. If your loads are shorter than that, you should be good to go. (I'm assuming that you must be longer than the minimum OAL). Some guys like to seat so that the bullet is firmly into the lands, if you're doing that you should start with a light load and work up, but that's a different scenario and not what your question is about. I've found that I get the best accuracy with bullets seated anywhere from .010" - .025" away from the lands, depending on the gun and the load.
If you haven't crimped the bullets into the cases and your OAL is too long, you can seat the bullets deeper so they will fit the magazine or the chamber by changing the seating depth of your seating die and running them through again.

34 grains of BL-C(2) is a relatively mild load for the bullet weight. I doubt that any differences in case volume from the longer PSP bullets will drive pressures. Since you are not seated into the rifling, I will say you should be safe to shoot these. Look for pressure signs on the first couple of cases after you fire them just to be sure.

I did seat the bullets a little lower in the case. I was worried about compressing the powder but i can still here it moving around so I feel a little better about shooting the loads.
