But...it seems like it could also hurt peoples chances to buy/sell also. Other members can give info to someone about the product if the seller is not online.
Ex.
A couple months ago someone posted a bipod for sale. They were very vague in the description of what they were selling, even saying in the listing they were not sure of the brand. There were a few people inquiring about it with questions and the seller was slow giving them answers. I happen to have the same exact kind he was selling, so I thought I'd help him out by posting the info for him/her so the buyer could make his/her decision. For some reason my post got deleted without any explanation to me whatsoever. If nobody tells me what I did wrong how will I know not to do it again? It ended up that the guy who originally wanted the bipod did not get it because the questions now remained unanswered. I feel this decision to delete my post was not in the best interest of the buyer and the seller.
You could also put a penalty banning (or suspending) people from the classifieds for bashing others FS items. If you're not interested and don't have anything positive to add, just dont say nothing.
I know these are just a couple things and there are many more things at hand, just thought I'd add my 2 cents worth.

Mike,
as a note, all the suggestions you posted above were part of the classifieds rules, which were in effect before you joined the site (going by your Join Date of Dec 07)
For example:
"Check PM or Email " only replies allowed
all questions and comments must be by email or PM only, no discussion in the thread.
No price flaming.
All comments not following the rules will be deleted
without comment
If i pulled it, and had the time, i'd PM folks with a warning.
If you continued, you'd get a timeout, then a longer timeout, etc until the poster learned that we will enforce the rules...the rules specified that failure to follow them could result in a loss of posting privileges.
the rules also pointed out (as they still do) to be SPECIFIC in what you are selling, or want to buy, and give an example of a proper ad.
When we went to the infraction system, then warnings and infractions were issued, resulting in some object lessons.
Since people STILL could not follow the rules, or willfully refused, we instead changed it so no replies could be made except by the OP.
You said "If nobody tells me what I did wrong how will I know not to do it again?"
We did, we had clearly posted rules for the sales forums, like the rest of the site rules, it's best if folks read them
