really depends..

If I'm going where there are alot of tree rats up high - I take the 12ga.

If they are on the ground - either the 12ga or 22rf.

If they are in my yard/garden in town - subsonic 22rf from within my kitchen window firing thru my handy "noise box"(not attached to gun).
